Jerseylicious Star “Olivia” Demonstrates Smokey Eye at Clackamas

On May 31,  celebrity makeup artist and Style Network Jerseylicious cast member Olivia Sharpe held a series of workshops on how to create a flawless smokey eye. Each of the four workshops were about an hour long and featured both Olivia and fellow cast member Michelle DeCarlo, who was the “smokey eye” model. Both women were a joy to work with and stayed after each class to take photos and chat with fans.

Fashion Shoot Provides Hands-on Experience for Students

A few months ago we decided that we wanted to update all our marketing materials with new women and new looks. We loved the previous images from our last fashion shoot, but it was time to give a new batch of students some hands-on experience with styling models for the camera. Portland photographer Lavenda Memory and award-winning make-up artist and Phagans alum M’chel Bauxal led a team of students during two days of photography and videography for the April shoot, titled ETHOS.

Phagans Selected to Style Rose Festival Princess for Third Year

We are very proud and honored to announce that Phagans School of Hair Design has been invited to do the hair and make-up for the Rose Festival Princesses, for the coronation of the Queen, on Saturday June 8, 2013. This is the third year our students have been styling the Rose Festival Court.

The 2013 Rose Festival Court (below) made their first public appearance in April at Royal Rosarians Blessing of the Festival at Grace Memorial Church in Notheast Portland. The annual Blessing is both a memorial service and a preview of the upcoming Rose Festival.

Phagans Students Prepare for Fashion Photo Shoot

March was an exciting month for Phagans students as they began preparations for an upcoming professional fashion photo shoot. Once completed, the new photos will be used on Phagans promotional materials, advertising, and online for the next year or two.

Earlier in the month, about 50 Phagans students and faculty met with Portland fashion photographer Lavenda Memory to break into teams and prepare for the shoot. Students will be working with a team leader on styling models’ hair. Students will also be assisting the make-up artist and photographer with on-set duties.

Then, Phagans held an open model call to assemble a group of young women who will provide the canvases for student creativity and style.

Model Call March 22 for Phagans Photo Shoot

Aspiring models, join us on Friday, March 22 from 3-9 PM at Phagans’ Clackamas campus. We’re holding an open call for models to participate in an upcoming photo shoot.

Models who are selected to be a part of the photo shoot will have their hair and makeup done by Phagans students, and their pictures will be used in upcoming Phagans promotions. You must be flexible with your hair, be 18 years old or older, and will need to sign a model release.

This is a great opportunity to experience the glitz and glam of a professional photo shoot with Portland-based photographer Lavenda Memory. Mark your calendars for March 22 to attend the model call and grab your chance to step into the spotlight.
