As prom season gets into full swing, we wanted to give you look into what can help you stand out on your big day.
Updos Still In Vogue
Whether you like the messy look of a textured updo or the intricate geometry of a style full of braids, you’ll find an updo that can suit every taste. The students at Phagans practice updos constantly and can really come up with some cool styles. And we’re offering updos in our prom packages.
Nails That Won’t Fail
There are so many choices out there, it’s hard to go wrong provided your nail look matches your overall look. Phagans is offering a manicure with our prom packages this year so leave it to the experts to take care of you. Want some tips for your tips? Check out this Fashion Times article for some great ideas.
Dress to Thrill
You know what you like and in the Pacific Northwest almost anything goes, so go for it. Try a short backless dress, or channel your inner glamour-lover with a floor-length, backless gown. If you want some ideas, check this slideshow of 31 dresses.
What About the Guys?
We don’t want to alarm you, but you should know that the average guy on the West Coast is going to spend nearly $1,000 dollars on the big night. Transportation, dinner, flowers, clothes … the costs are going to add up so plan ahead.
Hair: Shameless plug here, but Phagans offers $8 haircuts every day. Tell your stylist you need something great for prom and he or she will set you up.
Clothes: Proms used to be about only tuxedos, but you know you can do almost anything these days provided you stay classy! One tip that might help is think about actually buying your black-tie outfit. A tailored jacket and pants will carry you far beyond the prom season and you can dress them up or down with changes in shirts, ties and accessories. The best part is you’ll be spending only a little more than a 24-hour tux rental and you’ll look fantastic. Remember, tailored!
Flowers: You don’t have to stick to the basic corsage. Start thinking about “The Great Gatsby” and find something different, something delicate, with orchids or spray roses and a touch of glamour such as wire accents. Find some inspiration on this Pinterest board, but remember that bigger isn’t always better.
